First, identify the project
A useful artwork handoff names the notebook version as well as the design.
| Include | Why the factory needs it |
|---|---|
| Finished size and orientation | The dimensions describe the actual product. State units and whether the file represents a cover or an inner page. |
| Binding and page count | Sewn, spiral, saddle-stitched and glue-bound structures create different layout considerations. Say whether your count means pages or sheets. |
| Artwork version | Use a clear version identifier so that revisions are not confused with the approved production file. |
| Reference or physical sample | A reference explains colour, material or finish expectations that a screen image alone cannot prove. |
Separate the artwork tasks
Supply the parts separately so that each can be checked against its production requirement.

Review branded covers →State the page order, blank pages, ruled/dotted areas and any repeated or variable layouts. Explain what is printed on each side.
Check the notebook format →Treat a sleeve, box, label or belly band as a separate item. Final dimensions depend on the approved notebook and packaging construction.
Plan the presentation →Artwork on finished notebooks

Confirm, do not assume
Ask for the final production setup after the structure is selected.
The required bleed and safe area should be confirmed for the actual cover, interior and packing item. This guide does not prescribe one universal bleed value.
Allow the agreed binding margin or spiral punch area, and review spine artwork where the structure has a spine. Confirm the measurement against the selected size and sample.
Send a file the factory can review and retain your source artwork. Accepted production formats, fonts, colour handling and resolution should be confirmed for the project.
A digital proof helps confirm layout and version. Paper, binding, colour and surface finish may still need a physical sample before approval.
Tell us the format, quantity, artwork, destination and required arrival date. MOQ, sample costs and shipping are confirmed for your project.
